मान लीजिए एक RCC Slab की Length 5 m, Width 4 m और Thickness 0.12 m है।
= 5 × 4 × 0.12

अर्थात इस उदाहरण में केवल geometric volume के आधार पर RCC slab का concrete volume 2.40 cubic metre है। Material quantities और final cost निकालने के लिए mix design/specification तथा applicable estimation methodology अलग से consider करनी होगी।
